Celtics Win Despite 15pt Deficit Early On!!
The Celtics beat the Cavs 120-113 and improve to 17-5 on the season while remaining undefeated at 11-0 at home! The Celtics came out of the gates looking horrible falling down 22-8 early with JB scoring literally all 8pts on 3-3 from the field while the rest of the team was 0-10 so it was shocking to see the Celtics only down 10 at the end of the first. While the offense was a mess in that first quarter they really turned it around scoring 38pts in that second quarter followed by 35 in the 3rd securing a lead and carrying that into the 4th quarter for the win.
After a horrible 0-10 start from beyond the arc, the Celtics ended the game shooting 18-44 which is just over 40% from 3 which is excellent to see. The big storyline of this game is the FT shooting where the Celtics were a perfect 26-26 while the Cavs were just 6-9. A 20pt swing on FTs alone is massive in any game but especially on a night like this where the Cavs were shooting lights out as well. the Celtics really struggled in the high pick and roll tonight and often saw Porzingis and Horford getting caught in a drop which led to a lot of open shots for both Garland and Mitchell. This was far from a perfect game but they escaped with a win which is always nice to see.
