Words and their meanings can occasionally change over time. Words and their definitions come into contact with the culture and cannot come out the other side without being changed in some way. It is for this reason that careful attention must be given to how we read the

word of God. There are a couple of words in our text this morning that have had their brush with countless cultures over time and have had their definitions watered down, or their tone changed. This morning, we will look at three of these words or concepts from the text for us to crack open and examine with a biblical

magnifying glass and see where our understanding might need to be adjusted.

A life submitted to God and his word doesn’t always lead to safety, but it does bring delight.
