A peaceful heart gives birth to love. When love meets suffering it becomes compassion. When love meets happiness, it turns to joy. When we touch peace, love, joy, and compassion in ourselves, we are transformed.

When we stop chasing after the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, we begin to experience the aliveness of the journey. The focus then shifts from the imagined future scene in the movie of our life to the present scene, here and now. Every step reminds us how to live. The walk is everything.

William Blake said, "We are put here for a little space that we may learn how to bear the beams of love." What matters is if we can make it to the cliff of "Yes" and shout our secrets to the sky till Heaven is the song we choose to sing on Earth. We are charged by love with the vibrancy of a larger presence.

Could experience be for humans what erosion is for elements? Is the purpose of experience, over a lifetime, to carry us to what matters and then wear us away till we become part of the sweet water the next generation drinks? If this is so, then what is the work of being human?

We are human beings, with "being" the key word. We have no other work to do other than be. 

Rabidranath Tagore wrote, "Where the mind is without fear, the head is held high; where words come out from the depth of truth, where tireless striving stretches its arms toward effortlessness, where the clear stream of life has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit. Into the heaven of freedom, let us awaken."

By offering our life to Life itself we grow and server the One. As we GIVE we Receive. Love works through us, for us, and as us. A gift has no blessing until it is given away. How are we giving ourselves to Life?

Life in and around is here to evolve in and through each of us. WHAT IT DOES is create things "new". Could we place ourselves in that stream of life that is always fresh, awake and alive? Dr Holmes calls this eternal dance our "emergent evolution".

Each of us has a direct line of communication with the One Source. It is our own private channel. To use it, we must only go within and invoke it. Let us explore going within. 

Everything begins with the One, so all else derives from it. Let us begin with that premise -- that God is the source of everything.
