It's easy to believe a lie about what will make us free only to end up more enslaved than ever. The way of Jesus can seem restrictive initially but ultimately it's the counterintuitive path to freedom.

We all have believed lies about what we thought would make us happy. The lie is that if I prioritize my own pleasure I'll be happy. But you won't. The reality is when you prioritize fulfillment over pleasure, you get both. And ultimately, you find happiness.

Some of the biggest lies we believe are the lies about who we are. Once you discover the truth about who you are it becomes a catalyst for all that God wants to do in you and through you.

In the series we’ll talk about how every human being, religious or not, is prone to believe lies. In fact, every bad decision we’ve made has come from a lie we believed. So, how do we decipher what is true in a world with so much misinformation? What lies are you potentially believing right now?

Friends. New Girl. Ted Lasso. Seinfeld. How I Met Your Mother. Why are we so drawn to these shows? We all want to have those 3-5 best friends who know everything about us and do everyday life with us. We put so much pressure on ourselves and others to fit this ideal. We get overwhelmed with the time and energy it will take to develop these friendships. But what if I told you living a relationally rich life isn’t that hard? What if it is as simple as just taking a seat?

Filling the Void // We think the desire for more in this life can be solved in this life. But our desire for more in this life is a desire for life with God in heaven.

Nothing is Wasted // God never wastes anything which is really good news for us. Because heaven is a reminder that God will not give up on his creation and that nothing we experience in this life will be wasted. No matter how hard things are right now, we can know that God will not waste our pain, our hope, or our life.

Life At It's Best // Ever felt like heaven didn’t seem that compelling? You would never say it out loud but you’ve thought it. For many people the idea of heaven is an existence separated from everything we know. But the reality is that we were created for life in this world. Ultimately, heaven is the fulfillment of God’s original design for this life and our world at its best.
