Renew our Alertness for Jesus. We can be tempted to fall into a spiritual sleep a lethargy in our walk with the Lord. Jesus calls His church and His people to wake up! We must live alert and watchful with the vibrancy of spiritual life that He has given us in salvation.

Renew our holiness for Jesus. The enemy tempts us to assimilate error and sin into our faith. The lie is that we can worship God and the idols of this world without consequence. God's people are called to be holy because God is holy.

Renew our purity for Jesus. God's people are called to be pure and holy. They are to be spiritually uncontaminated by the world. A little compromise results in a contaminated gospel and witness for Jesus. Jesus exhorts His church to spiritual purity as they serve Him.

Renew our steadfastness for Jesus. We can become discouraged in this life when sorrows, sufferings, and persecutions come against our faith. When troubles come God cares for us. We can be strengthened in our faith by looking to the sovereign, sustaining, and faithful hand of God.

Renew our love for Jesus. God's love for His people will never cease. But when God's people turn their eyes to idols their love for the Lord can grow cold. We are called to renew our love for the Lord by remembering His love and great glory!

Prepare your heart to worship by looking at Jesus! We prepare for just about everything in this life. But do we prepare ourselves spiritually to worship and serve the Lord? As we begin this study in Revelation 1-3, we start by filling our vision with the wonder of Jesus!
