Walk in the Light. God is light. He is the source and standard for all that is good and right. We must live in the light with our lives aligned to God and His will. Those who walk in the light abide in God and confess their sin.

Knowing God is joy. The world promises happiness and satisfaction but only provides fleeting pleasure and discontentment. Genuine joy and satisfaction comes only from knowing God and being known by Him.

Confident faith in a world of lies. The book of 1 John was written so that we would have confidence in our salvation, joy in our walk, and holiness in our conduct. As we study this little letter we will be encouraged in our faith by our Savior.

Jesus' preeminence is displayed in reconciliation. Only the preeminent One could be the perfect Savior!

Jesus' relationships show His preeminence. Jesus is over all and above all. We know and serve the preeminent One!

Trust Jesus. Our Savior leads us purposefully through the storms of life. It is in the difficult days that our faith in Jesus is strengthened.

Renew our zeal for Jesus. We are called to an earnest spiritual zeal for the Lord. To often our zeal wanes because we become prideful and self-sufficient. We renew our zeal through repentance and delight in our Savior. 

Renew your faithfulness for Jesus. Jesus is with us and He empowers His people. Even if our role or influence seems small Jesus has given us everything we need to persevere in faith and faithful service!
