John 21:15-21:17 | What does it mean when Jesus tells Peter to feed His sheep? Who are the sheep? What is the food? And what are the qualifications of a shepherd? The answers to these questions remain critical for the church today.

John 21:1-21:14 | In the midst of Peter's failure and our own failure, Jesus reveals himself to his followers and calls us to come back to him, offerings forgiveness and restoration and renewed fellowship.

John 20:30-20:31 | What John has done throughout his gospel is shine the clearest light possible on who Jesus is and hold out salvation through faith in Christ for everyone who would believe.

John 20:24-20:29 | When Thomas has a genuine encounter with the resurrected Jesus his doubt and unbelief give way to joy and faith. When in doubt, what we need more than anything is to encounter Jesus and to be grounded in the hope of gospel.

John 20:19-20:23 | Having experienced the death of their leader and fearing the probable wrath of the Jewish leaders the disciples find themselves scared and locked in a room. The miraculous appearance of Jesus brought them a great deal of Peace, as it validated the teachings of Jesus and their faith in Him, yet it set their lives on a path of continued trust and reliance on Him, His teaching, and His ultimate purposes. Bolstered by the empowerment of the Spirit they were able to accomplish all that Jesus has set out for them to accomplish.

John 20:1-20:18 | What difference does it make that the tomb was empty and that Jesus rose? We're told in 1 Corinthians, if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins (15:17). So, it would appear that the resurrection is the very centre of the Christian faith. If Jesus rose it changes everything!

John 19:28-19:42

John 19:17-19:27 | "Let's connect" is a common buzzword of our day. Human hearts long to be connected? to each other? and to God. So we look for endless ways and methods to do that - all of which, over time, change or disappear. But one point of connection never does: The Cross of Jesus Christ. It connects us to God, and to each other, at not only the deepest levels, but at levels that every human heart on the face of the planet can identify with ... prompting the Apostle Paul to write: ?"He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?" At the cross of Christ, God says to each one of us: ?"Let's connect."

John 18:38-19:16 | Unwittingly, through the political wrangling, Pilate unveils Jesus' true identity as King! Jesus is secure in the ultimate authority found in God and does nothing to influence or change the course of the discourse even though he is abused, mocked, shamed, and beaten. In the end, the Jews reject Jesus as King! In doing so, they not only reject Jesus, but God himself.

John 18:28-18:38 | On the verge of His death, Jesus told Pilate the purpose of His birth: to bear witness to the truth. Jesus left heaven, took on flesh and blood, was despised and rejected, died a horrific death, rose again... to testify to the truth. In the midst of our relativistic society, Jesus invites us to embrace Truth.
