Season 4 Episode 13

The whole crew is back in studio and talked about their summer plans and just miscellaneous banter. In this episode, they welcome Coty Edwards from Hidden Still Spirits in Hershey, PA. Coty is the head distiller and he talks about his journey that got him in the business and how the business started in 2015 by owner, David E. Stein. Their Pennsylvania Craft Bourbon carries his namesake, Dave E. Straight Bourbon. This is a must listen and we highly recommend a site visit to try their entire product line of their distilled products and their canned cocktails. We sampled two of the RTD drinks and their Black Label and Double Oaked bourbon.

PS: even Bret enjoyed the bourbon!

In this episode, Dave and Bret talk about the wet spring (when this episode was recorded) and play the game "Where's Kevin?"! Really, they had the please for welcoming Matt and Susan Dunn from Desperate Times Brewery in Carlisle, PA in studio. Matt and Susan talk about how they came up with the name and why they decided to open a brewery in Central Pennsylvania. From humble beginnings to award winning beers, their story is unique and awesome. Being next to the Carlisle Fairgrounds, they have been able to expand their offerings. Dave, Kevin & Bret (the whole crew is back in studio) and were excited to have Colton Boyles back on the show, this time as the head brewer at Falling Branch Farm Brewery in Street, Maryland. Falling Branch is Hartford County's first farm brewery and led by the family's fourth generation, going back 100 years. WOW!

Colton discusses what started him down this path, his future plans (including his dream wedding) and how he comes up with recipes and continuing to tweek the breweries original recipes. He brought along for us to try a session IPA, an American IPA, a red ale and an oyster stout.

Brewery Products

The Force was strong on this episode with all three of the CPP crew in studio, Kevin, Dave and Bret. Their guest today is Vicki Jeffers from Brewery Products, who they met at the Winter Brew Fest in February. Vicki is passionate about her job with the family owned business, where she handles most of the event scheduling and making sure that the event is successful. She enjoys her "dank" IPA's and you can tell by her enthusiasm that she loves what she's doing. Listen in to Vicki's story and how Brewery Products continues to deliver FUN!

Vicki brought with her today a hazy IPA, west coast IPA, hefeweizen and an imperial brown ale.

Alecraft Brewery

Dave and Bret talked a bit about the Winter Brew Fest that was held in Red Lion, PA at the Double Barrel Roadhouse and the release of their collab with Sign of the Horse Brewery. Then they were happy to talk with Brad Streett from Alecraft Brewery in Railroad, PA.

Brad and his wife, Eryn, had a passion for craft beer and decided to take their homebrewing by starting a homebrew supply shop in Bel Air, MD. The met there partners through this venture and then decided to open their brewery in Maryland and now have opened in Railroad, PA. Listen in to hear the whole story and find out how this passion is crafting artisan beer.

Brad gave us a classic hefeweizen, hazy IPA, west coast IPA and a coffee stout to sample. It was a pleasure to get to know Brad and we recommend a visit to their place.

Prototype Brewery & Meadery

All the hosts were in studio today, Kevin, Dave & Bret, and we had the pleasure of getting to know Kevin Keller and Logan Rider from Prototype Brewery & Meadery. We find out what this "prototype" is and how this collaborative effort got its start. From a group of friends that love beer, they developed an idea to be different and becoming a collaborating brewery until the right place and time come along to open their own place. Their story is interesting and so cool, that we had to have them on to tell their story.

Kevin and Logan brought a long a smoothie sour (collab with Fourscore Beer in Gettysburg) and a farmhouse ale (collab with Collusion Tap Works in York).

Dave and Bret won't be talking to a brewer or tasting any beer, but instead they had the pleasure of having Justin Staub from Sofranko Advisory Group in studio.

Bret is flying solo in this episode and is joined by Davey O' Leary from The Greatest Barman on this St. Patrick's Day special. Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit!

We find out more about this true Irishman and his venture into a bartending for hire business. This is a unique story and his and Brittany's vision on what The Greatest Barman has for the future. Season 4 Episode 4 - Lancaster Brewing Co.

The CPP Crew was back at it again and talked a little about the holidays and the new year. They also had the pleasure of having Mark Braunwarth, Head of Brewery Operations for Lancaster Brewing Company (https://www.lancasterbrewing.com) in studio. Mark shared the history of Lancaster Brewing and how they brought brewing back to Lancaster County after nearly 40 years. This is an episode filled with some great information on the area and how Lancaster Brewing continues to provide the northeast with great craft beer.

Mark brought with him for us to sample, a mexican lager, shandy and a hazy IPA.
