Blood of Elves, Chapter 6

This chapter is all about what we're calling the "Sapkowski couplet": after introducing complex, nuanced ideas in theory, we get to watch them play out in practicality. The merits of self-interest vs larger causes, taking action vs lying in wait, using key players as pawns vs disposing of them – we get multiple POVs playing out these ideas (with remarkable nonchalance), and each zoom in gives us a view of another cog in Sapkowski's machine. This is the penultimate chapter of the novel, and it shows – things are ramping up in a truly exciting and unexpected way.
