  • Ep. 26 - Uplift Humani-TEA

This episode features Anish Patel, founder of Uplift Humanity. UH, aside from an awesome CTP pun, is an organization that offers educational programs to orphans and juveniles in India. The organization started in 2010 when Anish was still in high school. He knew he wanted to make a difference and give those kids the second chance they deserve. He decided to start with working to fix the education system in the state of Gujurat. Since then, it has expanded to surrounding areas of Mumbai. He talks about the challenges in getting people on board with what they are trying to accomplish. Though it's not easy, he says the rewards are higher than they could have ever imagined. His team has now grown to 35 employees with no end in sight. By helping those in need using the resources they have, they hope to Uplift Humanity, one child at a time.

We are thrilled to feature a brand new artist on this week's episode. Welcome the musical stylings of Harmonic Flaneurs, a duo formed by Harini Iyer and Krithi Rao. Check out their music & follow the group on social media:

  • Ep. 24 - DJ T Party

On this episode, we have another podcast host and DJ, New Jersey native, Shri. He plays in the New York/New Jersey area by the DJ name, Shri Mix. We love a good play on words. We talk about how he got into the disc jockey business and how it means more than just playing music at a party. He talks about how empowering it is to be in control of the ambience with the music he plays. He plays a mix of Bollywood and American music in a way to unite the guests whether it's at a dance club or a wedding event and make sure they're having the best experience. In his own podcast, Mobile DJ Tips, he helps other aspiring djs to be the best entertainer they can be. He doesn't see the community as competitive because everyone has one goal, and that is to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. We loved having him and his uplifting personality on!

  • Ep. 20 - Your Best Bet
    Episode Notes

We all know the struggles of finding the perfect shade of makeup. The beauty industry in the United States is tailored to people who don't quite look like us. So, in a culture that doesn't know how to help us figure out our own style, how do we know ourselves? For this very reason, we see more people of color coming up as style & beauty bloggers. Our guest on this episode, Deepica Mutyala, broke into the industry with a viral video on how to mask under eye circles with red lipstick. Since then she has quit her steady job & jumped head first into following her dreams.

BIG thank you to Deepica for talking to us! Make sure to follow her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & YouTube for all the latest tips.

Are they doomed to a life of working in fast food drive though lanes? Nope. Turns out the path to success isn't as narrow as the minds of our community. insert shrug emoji
