Chainsaw Buffet Podcast

Chad, Charlie, Dylan and John discuss the news from Comic-Con, including the DC Reboot protests, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Knights of Badassdom, Street Fighter X Tekken character announcements, exclusive con toys, and the upcoming Voltron game. We also discuss the next Anime Fans Give Back To Japan event (on August 13) and follow up our Eden of the East Anime Club podcast with our impressions of the full series.

Charlie, Dylan, Jen, John, and Liz watch the first 3 episodes of Eden of the East, and discuss their thoughts on the style, story, and unanswered mysteries of this series.

Eden of the East follows the story of Akira Takizawa, who wakes up in front of the White House naked and devoid of memories. With only a gun and a special cell phone that connects him to an organization known as the Seleção, he begins searching for answers, eventually dragging Saki, a tourist from Japan, into the game.

In the pre-interview podcast, Charlie, Dylan, and John discuss USA network's summer season (as well as a brief nod to TNT's "Franklin and Bash").

Then, in the second half of their Hamacon interviews, Charlie, Jen, John, and Liz talk to Micah Solusod ("Soul" from Soul Eater, "Tsutomu" from Birdy the Mighty: Decode) about his career, his hobbies, and some of his favorite TV shows, including White Collar and Dr. Who. Also, John reveals a dark secret from his short-lived acting career.

In the pre-interview portion of the podcast, Charlie, Dylan, Jen, John, and Liz discuss their first experience at Hamacon. Then, Charlie, Jen, John, and Liz are joined by Chris Cason (Gluttony, Fullmetal Alchemist, Mr. Popo, Dragon Ball Z) to discuss his career in one of our least professional interviews to date.

Having been stranded on Earth by both Randy Savage and Harold Camping's Rapture, Charlie, Dylan, and John discuss various topics, including the release of Durarara! and E3 predictions.

Barbara Goodson (FLCL, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) joins the podcast to talk about the impact Japan has had on both her life and career, as well as the ongoing crisis overseas. In addition, John makes an important announcement regarding the current status of the Voices For Japan series.

In this episode, Chad, Charlie, Dylan, and John are joined by Patrick, who won an appearance on the podcast during our segment on the Anime Fans Give Back To Japan 24-hour podcast. They discuss the allegations that pro fighting game player Justin Wong threw matches, Blizzard's new in-game pet fundraising drive to help Japan, and the new Mortal Kombat.

Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop, Wolverine & The X-Men) makes his first appearance on the podcast to give his thoughts and feelings about the current state of affairs in Japan as part of our ongoing weekly interview series.
