In this episode, Toby Buckle and I discuss utilitarianism and whether it can be considered an 'objective' moral theory. I argue for the primacy of emotions in moral thought drawing off of Jonathan Haidt's research and Tamler Sommer's philosophy and Toby Buckle retorts arguing the basic intuitional basis of consequentialism. Ultimately, our views are quite similar with Toby being slightly more objectivist than I and I being slightly more subjectivist than him but neither of us being fully 'objective' or 'subjective' about meta-ethics.
