I remember how confusing it was to 'Aussie-Up!" my CV for job applications when I first moved over to Aus.
"Where does my personal detail go?"
"What is the correct Aussie CV format?
"Should I even include EVERYthing I did since I Ieft school, what about that holiday job I had that one time....?"
Gosh it took me a few years to get used to the lingo here and then to figure out an ideal way to represent myself on paper.
It sucks that you have to introduce yourself in such an almost impersonal way! But hey, that's what we've got to work with so let's make yours the best it can be.
I want the person looking at your CV to get a good feel for who you are and how you can positively contribute to that organisation's bottom line (i.e. 💲💲💲 ) that you're trying to land that job for!
So I asked my amazing friend and Aussie recruitment specialist, Jolande van Nispen, to give us her best advice this week on how to 'Aussie-Up!' your CV and get you into the shortlist pile so you can join us here in A-M-A-zing Aus Aus Aus asap.
