A quick update on where I am at and what is happening in the world of Savilian and The Sav Show.

A couple weeks back I had a few big life moments converging and I had to make a call.

I decided to pull the trigger and relocate to my hometown for a short stint.

The goal: spend quality time with the people that I love the most.

One of the great Stoic philosophers Epictetus had this to say about journaling:

“Every day and night keep thoughts like these at hand—write them, read them aloud, talk to yourself and others about them.”

Journaling is a valuable and ancient practice that every single person can benefit from in some way.

In a recent podcast episode on dealing with stress, Alex Hormozi talks about dealing with stressful and the sadness that may arise.

"Stress is just a part of the human condition, because you know who isn't stressed? Dead people".

It's a pretty funny point he makes, but I like it. Stress isn't the enemy, inaction is.

In this episode I talk about a stressful night and frustrating morning I encountered recently and how his methodology helped me think through the options in front of me and in turn act more effectively.

I have always approached goal setting in a similar way. The goal setting plan would look something like this:

1. Set a big audacious goal without any context or structure

2. Write it down somewhere that I won't be able to see regularly

3. Don't put in place actionable steps to help progress toward the goal 

4. Review at the end of month in disappointment without any review or understanding of where I fell short

Firstly I want to thank everyone for being here for the last podcast of 2023.

I have been on a hell of a ride this year.

Many great things have come and gone. Many good people, great friends, brilliant opportunities and moments have entered and exited my life.

I am grateful for all of it. I feel abundant.

In Alex Hormozi's video on his 100 million dollar morning routine, he makes some great points about doing the work - points that I had never heard before.

Like this... 

"What if you woke up and immediately did less of the non-lever pulling activities and more of the lever pulling work."

So I thought I would try it.

Instead of waking up to journal, stretch, meditate or exercise, I would get up and get straight to work.
