Many of us compare ourselves to others and it leaves us depressed, anxious, angry, and/or confused. It makes us feel bad about ourselves and our lot in life. Better perhaps to use our comparisons to others to motivate, inspire, and energize ourselves to take actions that might get us the lifestyle we envy in others. But if there really isn't much we can do to make a difference in our lives, then the better approach is to count our blessings, be grateful for what we have despite our lack and limitations, and appreciate that many other people have it worse than us and that, in fact, things could be worse for us as well.
