No matter how fleeting and minor your suicidal thoughts might be, it is best to take them seriously, examine them closely, and talk to a professional about them, to make sure you keep yourself sane and in one piece. Medications can cause depression and suicidal ideation. Physical conditions such as hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, low testosterone, anemia, diabetes and other illnesses can cause depression and suicidal ideation. And, of course, genetic and psychological factors can take people down that road. It's always best to err on the side of caution, to nip any psychological imbalance in the bud, so to speak, so it doesn't turn into a catastrophic event. Don't assume everyone has these thoughts now and then so I don't need to worry about them. That approach may work fine for some people. For others, it is the beginning of the end. Take care of yourself. If you've got significant suicidal ideation with intent and/or a plan, get yourself to a hospital immediately for your own safety. If you're got milder suicidal ideation, get yourself to a psychiatrist or psychologist for an evaluation and possible treatment.
