We often get stuck in habits, routines, rituals, behaviors we've done FOREVER because they basically work and we are comfortable with them, and we don't like change. But change is usually a good thing. Being stuck in one perspective, one world view, one way of looking at life, with the exclusion of other possibilities, is, in my opinion, a mistake, a self-imposed limitation. Better to challenge our boundaries and "limitations." Better, perhaps, to challenge our fears and our complacency. And we can do this in very simple ways, by doing routine things differently, and experiencing what that feels like. Best, perhaps, that we not hide in our room, but rather challenge our beliefs, think outside of the box, and manifest our potentials.
