Change Your Mindset, Change The Game | Dr Alia Crum | Closer Today
HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!
When you’re dealing with unexplained infertility, it’s incredibly hard to have a healthy mindset. You’re letting wondering why, how, and what. I dealt with unexplained infertility for five years. Every doctor thought I was fit and healthy, so I was sent to do IVF because that’s what you do when you can’t get pregnant on your own right? Two failed IVF’s later, my mind and my confidence in my bodies natural abilities to get pregnant were almost nil. My unexplained infertility was winning. So much so I printed out a surrogacy form. Luckily a few things had already been put into place, which at the time I didn’t know saved me.
The first was the words I used before & during our second IVF. I started to say “when I get pregnant” instead of “if I get pregnant.” This small but unmeasurable change started to make my subconscious belief that I could get pregnant, even though my conscious mind still didn’t have any physical proof. The second thing I did was demand testing, even though the doctors didn’t think I was a candidate for because I wasn't having recurring miscarriages. This two things added up and changed my infertility journey in the right direction - if there’s ever such a thing.
