In 2008, 17-year-old Sam Davis was a gifted sportsman with a passion for AFL.
But in May of that year, his life was cut short after attending a party. He was knocked unconscious and died in hospital. The teenager accused of killing the young footballer's with a single blow to the head was acquitted.
