In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Danni Perez, Ian Dixon, Sean Thomson of Gods of Eden from Sydney, Australia.   Channa discovered Gods of Eden when they performed in Pulp Summer Slam 2017.  Channa has been a fan of the band ever since. 

Started as a solo project of Danni Perez in 2010, Gods of Eden has become one of the biggest technical Progressive Metal bands with a solid lineup.  They released their full-length album “From the End of Heaven” in 2014.  Gods of Eden also supported bands such as Megadeth, Abbath, Dark Funeral, Dragon Force Grave and Lacuna Coil.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Rock Legend Chitral ‘Chity’ Somapala. Channa discovered Chity way back in the 1990s when Chity used to play with local Sri Lankan band Friends and was frequently appeared on the Sri Lankan TV. 

Chity who is born to renowned musician parents P.L.A. and Chitra Somapala in Sri Lanka, grew up experiencing how music is made first hand.  In 1998  he produced the song “Nadee Ganga Tharanaye”  for a commercial for local beer.  This is probably the first Rock song with Sinhala lyrics in Sri Lanka.  

Chity moved to Europe has worked with multiple Metal bands like Avalon, Faro, Firewind, Civilization One, Power Quest, Red Circuit.  

Chity talks about growing up, his parents, discovering rock music, recording his most famous song, touring the world,  recording with world-class Power Metal bands and artists.  Chity also talks about producing a tribute album for his parents' music and also about his new Sinhalese songs.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa Channa talks to Steve Francis, Founder, Drummer of Black/Thrash Metal band Bulletbelt from New Zealand. Channa discovered Bulletbelt on a Split Record they did with Bastardizer.  

Steve Francis, growing up in New Zealand always been a Metalhead.  He started his first band Karnage with Sam Totman (who went to form Dragonforce) in 1991 and also was part of band Demonic for several years. In 2009 Steve started Bulletbelt. 

In 2016 Bulletbelt song "Deathgasm & Black Banshee” was featured on the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack of Heavy Metal Splatter Horror Film Deathgasm.   

Steve talks about his childhood, how he discovered Metal, forming his first band, how he started drumming, touring and performing all over New Zealand and all over, getting the new lineup and recording a new album. Steve also talks about how spending time with his family & kids.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Betyljoos, Alternative Rock act from NYC.  Betyljoos is a solo project of musician and vocalist Linda Dolan. Channa discovered Betyljoos via Facebook and Spotify.  Channa loved the song “Wishing Well”  released in 2019.  

Linda has been a performer all her life and she started performing when she was 2 years old. She started her band when she was in her teens.  After playing many bands she decided to go solo and she started Betyljoos.  In 2017 she released her debut album Dredging the Hudson.  She is currently working on her second album. 

Linda talks about her childhood, how she started playing, starting her first band, how she got the band name,  releasing her first album, stories behind the music videos, covering her favourite 90s songs and what's coming up in the near future.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Brandon John Founder, Vocalist, Guitarist of Singaporean Speed/Thrash Metal band Dezaster.  Channa saw Dezaster live multiple times in Singapore in 2019 and met Brandon during these shows.  Channa invited Dezaster to come to Manila and produced the show under Metal Royalties Philippines. 

Brandon talks about his childhood, musical influences, meeting Raimy, forming Dezaster, releasing their albums, Singaporean metal scene.  Brandon also remembers getting invited to play in Manila, arriving in Manila and having a great time.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Marco Piras, Vocalist, Bassist, Guitarist from Italy.  Marco is the frontman of Porn-Grind band Funeral Rape and Gore Metal band Deathtopia.  Channa met Marco in Manila when Deathtopia played in 2017.  They’ve been friends ever since. 

Marco talks about growing up in Italy, early days of Metal, joining bands Brutal Murder, Bowel Stew, Joining Funeral Rape.  Marco also talks about how he was introduced to Mune of Deathtopia and how toured Europe, Asia with Deathtopia, performing at Obscene Extreme and other major festivals. 

Marco is currently working on the new album of Deathtopia and he is looking forward to releasing it and touring the world again.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Anil Balasuriya Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer, Director, Radio Personality from Colombo Sri Lanka.  Channa used to listen to TNL Radio where Anil was the Programs Manager and hosted two hottest shows “Spinning Unrest” and “SL Hot Ten”.  Channa is also an earlier fan of Anil’s band Independent Square.

Anil talks about discovering rock music, forming band Wreck, been part of Colombo Tribe Project, eventually creating successful rock band Independent Square.  Anil also talks about how he got into Radio and what the responsibility Radio has towards the local artists.

Anil currently focuses on content production and produced/directed many music videos.  Anil also wishes the reunion of Independent Square and it’s going to be a blast.

Nathan is a founding member of Legendary Pinoy Rock band Rivermaya and the current bassist/co-vocalist.  He was also a member of Filipino Rock bands Pinikpikan, Kapatid and a founding member of Bamboo and Hijo.
