In this episode , Channa Channa Channa is talking to Mune Ikemon Founder, Composer, Guitarist of DEATHTOPIA from Japan. DEATHTOPIA is a Gore Metal band from Japan.  Channa watched DEATHTOPIA 3 times in Manila and this where he became friends with Mune. 

Mune talks about how he started playing guitar when he was 14 years old with starting with Japanese bands like X Japan  then graduating to heavier bands like Slayer, Napalm Death and discovering more Extreme Gore Metal. 

He also talks about forming DEATHTOPIA and playing in the Philippines for the first time. 

Deathtopia is having a new lineup and they are working a new album.

In this episode,  Channa Channa Channa Talks to JR Gabuya ​ Guitarist, Composer and Founder of ARKM​ from Hong Kong.  Channa saw ARKM perform live in Manila at the Finite Fam’s first ever Finite Fest. Channa got connected with JR shortly after the gig and been friends ever since. 

JR born in Hong Kong  to a Filipino parents lived his whole life in the city state. He discusses about growing up in Hong Kong, listening to his Dad’s music , starting as a drummer and moving to play guitar.   JR played in legendary Hong Kong band Shepards The Weak for several years and also formed Black Night Red Sky prior to settling with ARKM. 

 ARKM named after  famous Batman game Arkham Asylum, since formed in 2018 has played several shows , written multiple songs.  They bring Progressive Technical music with extreme Hardcore which blew the crowds in every show.
 
 Aside from making cool Experimental Metal music JR  is also a Muay Thai Fighter under JUMP HK​ .

In this episode Channa Channa Channa talk to Luis Ifer, Vocalist of Spanish Grindcore band TEETHING.  Channa remember seeing TEETHING live in Manila in 2019 which they put up an extreme performance that blew him away.  

Luis Ifer who was born in Philippines but lived his whole life in Spain, dreamed of playing in Philippines with his band someday. In 2019 they were able to perform in multiple cities in Philippines along with Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand after many years of planning.      

Luis discuss the journey of discovering Hardcore music scene, forming TEETHING, playing in major Festivals, touring with Napalm Death and making art.

In this episode Channa Channa Channa is talking to Stigmata from Sri Lanka. Channa met Stigmata way back in early 2000s when he was attending Rock Saturday and other local gigs.    

Stigmata is a Progressive Metal Band from Sri Lanka formed 1998 in Colombo while the members were still in school.  Over the years they have released 4 studio albums, 1 Ep and several contributions to Compilations.  They have become the pinnacle of Pure Sri Lankan Metal and currently working on their 5th Release. 

Suresh, Tenny , Thisara and Hafzel talks about their beginning , their influences , the metal scene in Sri Lanka and their hard work towards the new Stigmata album.

In this episode Channa Channa Channa is talking to his friend , concert buddy Indz Chand about their favorite festival Pulp Summer Slam.  It was supposed to be 20th Anniversary show May 16th featuring Iron Maiden but the show got cancelled due to COVID-19 Lockdown. 

 Channa discovered and attended Pulp Summer Slam in 2009 and since then has not missed a single year for the last 11 years.  Over the years PSS has been something he is looking forward to every year and made lot of memories and friendships.  

 Indz attended PSS first time in 2006 and been attending ever since.  He has lot of stories about PSS which he is sharing with Channa and both of them has been loyal supporters of PSS. 

It’s sad to see a festival you cherished so much end , but somethings have to end for more good things to come.

In this episode Channa Channa Channa talks to Karen González , she is the President of Finite Fam who is responsible for many concerts in the Philippines. 

Karen is discussing how she got into the music scene and started organizing concerts from early 2017.  Started with Local gigs she eventually started bringing Foreign Acts.  Despite of challenges she successfully organize first-ever Finite Fest which included the top lineup Of Virtue, ARKM and Parallel Horizons.  

Karen also discussing how she able to managed multiple bands LOSTTHREADS, Fragments, SIMILAR//INTENTS, False Contender, and ORCA. 

Karen is hardcore support of  Volumes and was responsible for bringing them to the Philippines, also talks emotionally about spending time with the band during their PH Tour and recent loss of Diego Farias.    

Thanks to Karen for sharing with us her story and provide inspiration to others who wish to get into music scene.
