Jesse Deubel is the executive director of the New Mexico Wildlife Federation. He joins the National Wildlife Federation Outdoors Podcast to talk about how Aldo Leopold started his organization in 1914 and how they try to live up to his legacy today. We talk about the concept of wilderness, the importance of wildlife migration corridors, the Land and Water Conservation Fund, how to choose which hunting units to apply for, hunting ethics, the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation, and how the New Mexico Wildlife Federation found itself simultaneously trying to ban coyote contests while defending against a proposed ban on trapping. The National Wildlife Federation Outdoors Podcast is supported by RepYourWater and their 3% for Conservation commitment.
