At the contest center, Nani’s alolan vulpix won the beauty division, and Lyle had to chase his cutiefly down after it flew away in tears. While that’s going on, across town, Kai and Tadakatsu are about to challenge the fire gym and hopefully get their first badges…

After a lot of effort and frustration and almost jumping into the river, Kai and Tadakatsu got the fire gym up and running again. And as luck would have it, Hazespeed City is hosting the pokemon beauty contest, which will be broadcast nationally! Looks like it’s our time to shine!

Everyone catches their third pokemon and makes it through Route 2 safely… more or less. Turns out that battling is harder than it looks on tv. When the group finally makes it to Hazespeed Town, we realize pretty quickly that none of us are prepared for what we’re about to find…

Kai, Lyle, Tadakatsu, and Nani return to Halewheel Town to heal up after their battles on Route 1. After realizing there aren’t any wild pokemon in the town, the group heads back out into the woods and makes their way onto Route 2.
