  • 26. Annoying Kids Games: Navigating Minecraft, Roblox, and Everything In Between

Welcome back to the Chaotic Compass podcast! Today, I am here to rant about all the annoying games that kids play these days. From Minecraft to Roblox to FNF, things have certainly changed since I was growing up. While I’m sure my kids would not be too happy to hear me complain about their favorite games, I’m left wondering what ever happened to just playing outside with your friends.

In this episode, I’ll walk you through the kids games that absolutely annoy me today and the old-school games that I loved while growing up including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the original Grand Theft Auto, and more. Besides this, I’ll also let you in on some of the modern slang that just does not make sense to me these days. Keep listening to hear my rant and don’t forget to leave a comment on my Facebook, Instagram, or on my website to let me know what game annoys you the most. Let’s navigate the chaos together!

  • 25. PTSD and the Pandemic: Navigating Anxiety, Feeling Alone, and More

Welcome back to the Chaotic Compass podcast! Today, I’m here to talk about how the pandemic has affected not only my mental health, but so many others’. After listening to a segment on NPR about PTSD and the pandemic, I’ve come to realize just how much of a toll all of this has taken on me. From increased anxiety and irritability to difficulty controlling emotions and more, I’m here to let you know that if you are feeling any of these things, you are certainly not alone.

In this episode, I’ll discuss how the pandemic is making me feel, how I’m dealing with working from home during the pandemic, and how I’ve dealt with my kids being home while I’m working. Besides this, I’ll share with you how I’ve felt alone, unheard, and unseen in the last little while and how that has led to some arguments in my marriage. How do you deal with it all, you ask? Well, I’ll let you in on some of the things I’ve done to help myself cope. Keep listening to hear more and as always, let’s navigate the chaos together.

Another shout out to my awesome friends at Early Bird Bottle Shop for hooking me up with some Schilling Hard Cider!

  • 24. How It All Began: Navigating Our Relationship and Two Businesses

Welcome back to the Chaotic Compass podcast! Today, I am excited to have my husband Ryan back on the show to crack open a can of Four Loko Peach and talk about how our relationship first blossomed. From working together to building a friendship and eventually discovering our similarities, we’ll let you in on why timing was everything when it came to our romantic relationship. Besides this, we’ll also talk a bit about how we came to own two businesses, how we came up with the names of these businesses, and how we discovered our niche. Last but not least, we’ll share a bit about how we conquered the self-doubt that came with starting our own businesses, starting a podcast, and even getting into a relationship with one another.

There are a thousand reasons why you can’t or shouldn’t do something but it’s important to remember that if you can impact at least one person with what you’re doing, it’s so worth it. While the negativity and anxiety can easily take over, I’m here to remind you to focus on what your gut is telling you to do, to be confident in yourself, and to do what’s best for you. So, as always, let’s navigate the chaos together.

  • 23. The Cotton Anniversary: Navigating and Celebrating Two Years of Marriage

Welcome back to the Chaotic Compass podcast! Today, I am excited to be celebrating my two-year wedding anniversary with my husband, Ryan. While most of our marriage has been navigating COVID-19 and lockdown, I’ve learned so much about myself and my husband over the past few years and I’m so proud of how far we’ve come. Of course there have been some ups and downs along the way but I know that I will fight for the things I care about and I will do what it takes to make my marriage work.

That’s why, in this episode, I will share our unconventional proposal and wedding story with you, what we did to celebrate our two-year anniversary which includes some fun camping adventures in Greenbrier State Forest, and why this campground is significant to me and my childhood. Let’s navigate the chaos together.

The song I referenced that I could not remember for the life of me was Frankie Ballard “It all started with a beer” - you can listen to it here if you haven’t heard it.

Today I celebrate our anniversary with Downeast Ciders White Cider. Check it out here.

  • 19. Empower Yourself

Welcome back to the Chaotic Compass podcast! In this episode, I want to talk about how we’ve all been through so much - not just with the pandemic in 2020 - but throughout our lives in general and how that has empowered me. While things haven’t always been easy, I know that I am resilient and I know that I just have to remember my why. So, I want to know what is your why? Why do you get up everyday? What are you dreaming of doing and haven’t yet? Don’t tell me all the reasons why you shouldn’t, tell me ONE reason why you SHOULD. Let’s navigate the chaos together.

Welcome back to the Chaotic Compass podcast! Today, I am joined again by my husband, Ryan, to talk about why it's all his fault. What I mean by this is that we’ll be discussing women's oppression in today's world, why society often blames white men for a lot of it's problems, and societal norms.
