Chula Vista Elementary School District is the largest elementary school district California. 5 years ago, there were no full time music or arts teachers in the district. All of that changed when Lauren Shelton began her work in the district. In just 5 years, she has brought more than 90 full time VAPA (Visual And Performing Arts) to serve the children in CVESD.

In this episode, you will learn what led to the decision by CVESD to hire VAPA teachers. We get to learn a little about Lauren's upbringing, her strategy in building the VAPA program in the district, and get to hear the struggles and victories that she went through in the building process.
