For this service, we merged our CHBC and CHBC en Español families together for a BILINGUAL SERVICE.

What have we got to lose? Everything (control, power, reputation, stuff, even safety). What have we got to gain? Everything… Jesus Himself.

Having been cleansed by Jesus, we walk in the light by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Luke 9:1-22, the 12 disciples move from "interns" to "residents" as they are sent by Jesus to go out and heal the sick and proclaim the kingdom of God to the neighboring towns. Following that encounter, things get really real when Jesus asks His disciples who they think He is.

Jesus was sent to bring us into fellowship with God, for our joy.

Picking back up from last week in chapter 8 after the stories of the calmed storm and demon possessed man, Jesus now deals with the two other parts of our fallen world - disease and death. And, what's interesting about this text is the trust Jesus has in HIS OWN heavenly father to go to the cross to heal the fallen creation, fallen spiritual powers, fallen bodies, and death itself.

Jill Huffman has been teaching young minds and hands to create and problem solve through various media of art. As an educator in a diverse school system, through the influence of Triangle Fellows, she is now working to elevate the art and voice of black artists, a demographic conspicuously absent from most curricula.
