However the way is not easy and the gate thereof is very narrow. Many He said will not find it. He encourages those who are searching for the way and the gate to strive to get there. Be counted amongst those who find the way and enter through the gate. This statement He made before the cross and His resurrection. Now we have the Holy `spirit to guide man to the way, along the way and eventually through the gate.

God made a covenant with Abraham to bless Him and make him great. To make him and his descendants a blessing to nations and to also give them a land flowing with milk and honey as an inheritance. 430 years later Moses was sent to lead the descendants of Abraham from slavery in Egypt yet they had lost their way of worship and the knowledge of the God of their fathers was not in them. They had to learn again to serve God and keep the covenant promise alive. Hence the Law came in to tutor them until the teacher Himself came to lead them to perfection bringing along gentiles who were not part of the promises from the beginning.
