The ex-navy SEAL who died in a Thai cave during the rescue mission that has captivated the world, is being remembered as a sports-loving, dedicated officer. 38 year old Samarn Kunan died early on Friday after he and a fellow volunteer were on their way back from placing oxygen tanks deep inside the cave.

In the days and weeks after the crash many brought up the fact that other than truckers in Ontario, truck drivers do not need any special sort of training before they take a class 1 driver licensing test. In 2017, the BC Trucking Association called for mandatory truck driver training, but has yet to see anything implemented. Could mandatory training have prevented this tragedy?
