1. It was one of the biggest stories today (besides Kinder Morgan) - The Roseanne reboot has been given the boot after a racist tweet by the show’s star. Meanwhile, the subject of that racist tweet says she is doing “fine.” Valerie Jarrett says the controversy is an opportunity to make progress in race relations.

2. A Saskatoon man says he was cut on the forehead and suffered a concussion after an axe came flying through his truck's windshield. Mackenzie Peddle says he doesn't remember getting hit in the face while he was driving home to Saskatoon from Yorkton earlier this month.

3. It’s been a busy past 16 months for Serena Williams. Since the last time the tennis star played in a Grand Slam tournament, she got married, and gave birth...but in her return today, won her first round of the French Open...just nine months after giving birth and dealing with postpartum complications.

While buying the Kinder Morgan project may have solved short term problems for Justin Trudeau and his government, Markham Hislop says it also creates a mountain of new ones.

1. The FBI has some interesting instructions for you… and every other computer user in the world. They’re encouraging people around the world reset their computer routers because of potential Russian malware that may have hit computers worldwide.

2. Canadians who bank with BMO or CIBC’s Simplii Financial were told Monday that the institutions may have been affected by a data breach. BMO said hackers contacted the bank on Sunday claiming to be in possession of the personal information of fewer than 50,000 customers and threatened to make it public.

3. Today, Starbucks locations in the US temporarily closed their doors to talk to employees about racial bias. Starbucks Canada stores will be closed for part of the afternoon on June 11th for a similar training session.

Brad Wall has responded to today’s decision from the Federal Government by simply saying “I think the feds got their first and last resorts mixed up.” Speaking to media today, he says that while he is happy the federal government is ensuring the pipeline’s construction, he didn’t think buying the project was necessary.

Finance Minister Bill Morneau and the Trudeau government have decided to spend $4.5-billion to buy the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project and its core assets from Kinder Morgan. The leader of the United Conservative Party in Alberta is blaming the Alberta NDP and the Trudeau government's for the position the country is in, saying the nationalization of Kinder Morgan is no cause for celebration.
