It’s an important story coming out of Ontario, reminding Canadians across the country that they have a role to play in preventing domestic-related violence. Since the beginning of 2018 - 14 people – 12 women and two men – have died in alleged cases of domestic violence in Ontario ALONE.

A CBC Radio-Canada reporter has been arrested after contacting the subject of a story he was working on, accused of criminal harassment.

We’ve talked a lot about trade in the past few days and weeks as our neighbours to the south decide what to do with tariffs, supposed “trade deficits” and NAFTA. But if NAFTA did end, which Canadian provinces would be impacted the most?

Why do some people live long and healthy lives without developing any of the five biggest killer diseases: cancer, dementia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease or major lung disease? SFU cancer researcher Angela Brooks-Wilson began a Healthy Aging Study 16 years ago to examine the question. She has since investigated the health and lifestyles of 700 exceptionally healthy “super seniors” aged 85 and older across Canada, who have never been diagnosed with these five diseases.

- Ontario’s Progressive Conservative Party could form a majority government after the upcoming election based on polling data in the suburbs of the Greater Toronto Area, the CEO of Ipsos Global Public Affairs says.

- A new poll is out that shows who’s on top and who’s on the bottom when it comes to how your job stacks up when it comes to respect from fellow Canadians.

- Farmers (88%) doctors (87%) and teachers (86%) are the top three most positively viewed jobs

- Politicians (22%) and car salespeople (26%) are the least respected jobs in Canada (for the third year running)

- The group that saw the biggest growth in respect was journalists, according to the survey. Journalists were viewed positively by just 58 per cent of respondents in 2016, and 62 per cent in 2017. They scored 70 per cent approval in the 2018 poll

So many volunteers have joined in the search for missing ten year old Montreal boy Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou, that police have told them to stop coming. Kouakou has been missing since Monday - an Amber Alert was issued and has since been lifted since that time.

An Edmonton man says after having regularly vacationed in Mexico for nearly 50 years, he and his wife are now debating whether to ever go back.

And over to Florida, where at least four people have died after a newly installed pedestrian bridge collapsed on top of cars over a large highway this afternoon.

One day after Jagmeet Singh denounced terrorism in all its forms, a new video of the federal NDP leader has surfaced – this one at a seminar on Sikh sovereignty where a fellow panellist says violence can help achieve independence.

During the event, Shamsher Singh discusses two visions of the Sikh identity: one that endorses violence as legitimate form of resistance and survival, and another that embraces conformity, assimilation and political subservience. All the while, the future NDP leader can be seen sitting quietly with his head down, and appears to be looking at his smartphone.
