“No cash accepted” signs are common place in Sweden, where the majority of businesses are transitioning away from coins and paper money to digital payments. Protests continued for better gun control as more funerals were held Monday for Florida school shooting victims. Meanwhile, the family who took in the suspect after his mother died say they didn’t believe Nikolas Cruz was dangerous and that they were aware he had an AR-15 but made him lock it up.

Meanwhile in Washington, students protested gun violence outside the White House today in a “lie-in.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is navigating some complicated ground on his official visit to India.

A doctor working at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver is raising the alarm, after he says he was told he needed to be fingerprinted to prove he “wasn’t a sex offender with a similar identity.”

The Transmountain Trade War may still be mired on the BC wine front, but the war of words between the government and its counterparts in Alberta continues to escalate. Earlier today the BC Minister for Jobs, Trade and Technology, Bruce Ralston, says he's notified Alberta it's “formally requesting consultations under the Canadian Free Trade Agreement regarding Alberta's actions to ban the sale of B.C. wine.” Until now that was unheard of, but this latest missive from the BC government says "this will be the first formal dispute to occur under the new CFTA." In response, Alberta's Minister of Economic Development and Trade Deron Bilous has released a statement saying Alberta will "defend our actions vigorously on behalf of working people."
