And this last story is for anyone who has ever had parents or grandparents who lived to unbelievable ages...you’ll know they can sometimes be forgetful, even about their own age.

Former U.S. Olympic gymnastics coach John Geddert knew about sexual abuse by team doctor Larry Nassar as far back as 2011 but did nothing about it, gold medal-winning gymnast Aly Raisman has claimed. In an interview with CNN, Raisman, one of over 260 women who have reported being molested by Nassar, said Geddert’s inaction was a symptom of the American gymnastics establishment’s apathy in the face of clear signs Nassar was abusing the girls he was supposed to be caring for.

And while there is a lot to atone for from the USA Olympics commission, what is the role of congress in all of this, and can the government prevent the next Larry Nassar from happening?

Federal officials meet with several deputy ministers from B-C today as the two levels of government try to sort out a pipeline battle that has prompted Alberta to ban imports of B-C wine. Premier John Horgan says the high level meetings are aimed at clarifying the province's rights in the jurisdictional dispute the developed after B-C announced it might restrict bitumen exports from B-C ports to current levels.
