Prime Minister Justin Trudeau broke multiple federal ethics rules when he accepted a ride on the Aga Khan’s private helicopter and stayed on his private island over the holidays in 2016, the ethics commissioner has ruled. In a ruling posted on the website of the Office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner Wednesday at noon, Commissioner Mary Dawson said that her investigation into two complaints about the trip found that Trudeau violated the Conflict of Interest Act when he and his family accepted the trip.

The big man in red himself contacted Global News to confirm he actually is not Canadian. “I do not live in Canada,” said Santa Claus, in an exclusive interview with Global News. “Currently, I’m from North Pole, Alaska.”

This is not the first time Santa’s Nationality has come into question. in 2013 when Paul Calandra, Conservative MP and Parliamentary secretary to then-prime minister Stephen Harper, stood up in the House of Commons and declared to the world Canada’s intention to defend Santa Claus and the North Pole.

Winnipeg School Trustee Cathy Collins is hoping a conversation can be started about later start times at high schools in the city. She presented a notice of motion last night, asking administrative staff to look into the impact of a later start time.

Investigators are looking into whether the Amtrak engineer whose speeding train plunged off an overpass, killing at least three people, was distracted by an employee-in-training. An official, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, says investigators want to know whether the engineer lost situational awareness because of the second person in the cab.
