Sticking to the USA, half a dozen Democrats today introduced articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump , accusing him of obstruction of justice and other offences. The long-shot effort is being led by Representative Steve Cohen.

And over to Zimbabwe - The country is under control by the country’s military after saying it had placed President Robert Mugabe under house arrest in what army generals insist is not a coup.

Charles reads a summary of yesterday's events just outside of Sacramento from the Washington Post, and asks the question simply: where the hell are we rigth now in our history? 

Two big stories have come out of Alberta in the past 24 hours - Yesterday, the Alberta NDP government introduced how they are planning to deal with impaired driving once marijuana is legalized & and today, the government passed Bill 24 - a proposal strengthening alliances around GSAs. 

Today, three UCLA basketball players who had been detained in China on suspicion of shoplifting admitted they had stole items from three stores, and thanked President Donald Trump for his help.

VPD officers were faced with a strange sight. They pulled over a driver who they saw driving while wearing headphones (which is illegal.) But when they approached his car, they saw the driver had attached his phone to his steering wheel with a piece of string, and then also attached his tablet to the wheel as well!

British doctor Charlie Fry, a surfing beginner, was in the water with three other doctor friends when he was attacked by a shark off Avoca Beach, around 90 km north of Sydney.

The Trudeau government is formally offering helicopters, transport aircraft and a rapid-response team of soldiers for U-N peacekeeping. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told a peacekeeping summit in Vancouver today that Canada will provide what it can to help U-N missions succeed.

As talks to modernize NAFTA run into trouble, Canada is redoubling its lobbying efforts in Congress to block a Trump administration move to pull the US out of NAFTA. As officials prepare for the fifth round of negotiations to update the 1994 North American Free Trade Tready, they are increasingly concerned that US President Donald Trump may make good on a promise to pull out of the pact.

But, as doom and gloom as this sounds, there could be a silver lining to this.

When Prime Minister Trudeau does something that is praise-worthy, he shall be praised by yours truly. Kudos to him for standing up to the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte.
