Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 Hate crimes and incidents of hate speech are on the rise – sometimes with deadly consequences. In Charlotte and North Carolina, a lot of the hate speech seen on college campuses is facilitated by social media. Last fall two Davidson College students shared hate speech on social media and no longer attend the college. At Queens University of Charlotte, a swastika was drawn on a whiteboard.
