The presence of suffering does not mean that God is absent. And the presence of God does not mean that suffering will be absent. One thing that God graciously taught me was that He is ALWAYS there no matter what it may feel like. He promises that He'll make it more than alright, you just gotta hang on!

I pray this encourages someone who's feeling like God is nowhere to be found. I pray you find comfort in knowing that He's right there with you, always.

As we navigate stormy waters, what sustains us? As someone who brags about God consistently... how am I supposed to react when something far from desirable occurs? I've decided to be transparent about my healing process because that's one of the only ways I believe true healing will come for me. Let's see what God does.

Anywho, what about for you? How can you make up in your mind that whatever comes your way you can be content? Even when the situation seems impossible, you can do ALL things (that's an absolute) through Christ who gives you strength!

Going under the knife physically can be daunting... I mean who wants to get cut open? Going under the knife spiritually can be just as daunting. However, if God wants to remove something from you let Him do it. He sees all, His understanding is so vast. He sees what you don't see. Allow him to operate on you and free you from whatever He sees fit to. That freedom is so worth it! Take it from me. I've lived it.

Listen to your body. I know us Christians have heard over and over that it is a temple but it's a temple even outside of the context of sexuality. You only get one so do all you can to treat it like the temple it is. Don't procrastinate, even if you're young and you feel like you've got time .Get a second opinion if you feel the need to. I may not have read books when my father told me to, but he sure did plant a seed that finally sprouted. I realized that I was limiting my knowledge intake. I'm very glad he preached to me about reading, I FINALLY see it's importance. I think you should try it too!

In this life and in this fallen world, we are going to experience pain. A lot of times the people closest to us will cause us to feel that pain. However, I want you to rethink your pain and who you make the villain out to be in your stories. We all are just human beings who fall short. It’s unrealistic to expect imperfect human beings to be perfect. It robs them of their humanity. Extend more grace. Forgive more. Rethink who you consider the villain to be in your story.

Hey guys!! So sorry for my absence, as stated in the episode I didn’t abandon you all, I just had to make some adjustments. This season goes into detail about four specific lessons my dad taught me that resonated with me. This first one was about “influence”. You may not know 2 million people, but you for sure know 2 and you have an influence on those 2 people whether you know it or not. Intentionally use your influence to make a positive change in the world!

Here's a better definition of an influencer because I am not satisfied with the way I explained it in the episode :)

I hope this episode doesn't come off as divisive (that's not my goal)... but materialism is something I believe members of the Black community struggle with. Keeping up with the Jones' is overrated, especially if you don't have it like that. It is trickin' if you don't got it!

Pro Tip: Save your money, invest, adopt delayed gratification, pay yourself first, and in the mix of that enjoy yourself (wisely)!

Disclaimer: I am not comparing fat shaming and skinny shaming. As stated in this episode (towards the end) they are on two completely different ends of the spectrum and those who are smaller are the beneficiaries. 

In my opinion, images and messages through music and the media have been projecting this idea that Black women must be thick. For me, this has been reinforced through familial encounters and colloquialisms. 

(I'm not throwing a pity party for myself, I just felt like this would be an interesting topic to address) :)
