WARNING: in this episode my guest uncovers some ugly details about domestic violence. For the purpose of your safety, if you are experiencing DV, or think you might be, please listen where you are safely out of harm's way. Some details may be disturbing; please proceed with caution.
This is a two-part series. Please join us for the second episode to air on 2 June 2022 (always airs the first Thursday of the month).
The definition of DV (domestic abuse) can assume multiple forms, including physical, verbal, emotional, economic, religious, reproductive, or sexual abuse. It can range from subtle, coercive forms to marital rape and other violent physical abuse, such as choking, beating, female genital mutilation, and acid throwing that may result in disfigurement or death, and includes the use of technology to harass, control, monitor, stalk or hack.
If you are currently in this situation, or now recognize you may be, please reach out to your local support centers for aid.
Jessie helps us understand the mind of someone in this situation, how it happens and why we stay.
Please join us next month (always airs the first Thursday of the month) for part 2 of the story. You won't want to miss it.
Marriage ( or a relationship for that matter) fixes everything right? Our insecurities pale in comparison to the rewards of having someone in your life; right? Are you believing the lies someone else has said as your truth? Have you ever failed at a relationship you were certain was "the one?"
In this episode, I lay out the realities of how life's stuff can cloud your judgement of yourself and other people. I hope you enjoy the reading of chapter 6 from my book about making some choices that were not in my best interest, but were easier than the alternative! Hence the title "Chasing Easy." Ever been there??
My book is available on Amazon: (2nd edition, a dark background and smoky female figure wafting away.)

....but if you try sometime you'll find, YOU get what you need.
Now that you're humming that tune, listen in as Wendy shares her journey from a thought, to a "dream" to reality. She got what she needed!
If 'you're "nothing but a dreamer" (Supertramp), I encourage you to take the risk instead of living with regret!

The new year can bring in anxiety OR revelation! This episode offers a new and refreshing perspective on how to navigate your health journey. There is something for everyone.
Listen in on Dr. Catherine's personal health journey to help inform yours. She is not so different from most of us. As a pharmacist she saw the impact of medicine and supplements on a multitude of customers whose health was not improving. She vowed to get to the "root of it" to offer long term solutions as opposed to a band-aid cover.
Her wisdom and medical expertise are a perfect combination to speak life into others.

A more light hearted episode that goes along with the theme of Tyler Perry's "Diary of a Mad Black Woman." This episode I am deeming the "Diary of a Call Center Operator."
If you have a bank account, use on-line banking or cash apps, this episode explores all three; from the perspective of the call center operator.
Who new it was a real person on the other end of those calls:) Allow your eyes to be opened with gratitude and appreciation for the person on the other end of the phone when you call the help line at a bank.... I have a new respect for this unique breed of people:)
Hang on till the end; I didn't delete the funniest part of the episode.
