This week Joe is flying solo as Dave is recovering from Covid.  Joe interviews Bryce Carlson who in 2018, rowed across the North-Altantic from Canada to the UK in the record-breaking time of a bit more than 38 days.  The journey at sea, by oneself, is one that is hard to wrap our heads around but Bryce, the high-school teacher, figured it out and made history in doing so.  Bryce describes his experience leading up to and during the journey and it is an episode not to miss.

This week Dave and Joe, Chasing Tomorrow podcast co-show hosts, interview Chester Fitchett who holds the Canadian glider record at 1600 kilometers (nearly 1,000 miles).  Chester describes the overall glider experience and what its like to glide around at 15,000 feet with the windows open and a frigid wind blowing for hours on end with no heat!  Throw in an adult diaper and the experience is certainly for the strong of heart and mind.

This week Dave and Joe, Chasing Tomorrow podcast co-show hosts, interview Shelby Farrell.  Shelby is a new entrant to the ultra-running scene and already run the Cocodona 250, Javelina Jundred twice, a few big FKT's, recently a 74 mile out and back in Joshua Tree and many more races.  Her adventurous and can do spirit is an inspiration to many and it feels like she has just begun her journey.

This week Dave and Joe, Chasing Tomorrow podcast co-show hosts, interview Nick Coury, winner of the 24-hour Desert Solstice invitational race and new American record holder with an amazing distance of 173 miles.  Nick is one of the key people who got the modern-day ultra-community into the "mainstream.  Partnering with Jamil, his brother, in 2005 they formed Aravaipa running, and it served as a foundation for growing the ultra-running community.  After five years with Aravaipa, Nick went back to the software world and focused on ultra-running and programming and got great at both and after many a great race, Nick put it all together on December 11th when he crushed it on the track at Desert Solstice.

This week Dave and Joe, Chasing Tomorrow podcast co-show hosts, interview Tommie Runz, runner, podcaster, and sober vegan athlete who had a hard start living on the streets of Detroit. He worked for years to overcome and become a role model for others to mimic. Tommie has taken his life to a new level with a 2:48 marathon result and the founding of an apparel company, the man is on-fire.  He has truly discovered the importance of gratitude and compassion and we are all better for it.

This week Dave and Joe, Chasing Tomorrow podcast co-show hosts, interview Jon Herzog of Yuma Arizona.  A story of challenge and adversity, Jon's life has been from the lowest of lows to some very significant highs.  Having started life in a troubled family Jon found himself in prison for five years and used running to get his life back together.  He is now a pastor, husband, father, and 50-mile finisher (came in third place).  His journey and story is an inspiration and a reminder that truly anything is possible.

This week Dave and Joe, Chasing Tomorrow podcast co-show hosts, talk to Ryan Steiner.  Ryan is the true embodiment of what the podcast is all about.  From ordinary to extraordinary is exactly what Ryan is.  Born autistic, lost in this crazy world, he found himself at 700 pounds and barely able to walk. He decided to use movement to set him on a life-changing path losing almost 500 pounds - running became his therapy.  He has truly gone from couch to 50k race, and he did it pushing his special needs daughter to finish the race with him.  Ryan is an inspiration and helps us understand what is possible when we decide to make it so.
