Since the earliest of times, there have been tales of ghostly encounters. These tales can be found all around the world. For our final episode of Chatham-Kent Hauntings, we explore actual ghost sightings within Chatham-Kent.

For centuries, there has been a belief that some people have the ability to communicate with the non-living. Whether it be through seances, mediums, or simply a message from beyond the grave, these stories are prevalent in societies around the world. On today’s episode Sheila Gibbs, Lisa Gilbert, and Jim Gilbert recount three such stories that transpired in Chatham-Kent.

We’ve all heard at least one ghost story in our lifetime, but for most of us, these stories involve experiences with deceased humans. But the question remains what happens to our beloved pets when they depart their earthly bodies. Today’s episode answers some of these questions as we explore some of Chatham-Kent’s paranormal animal experiences.

Chatham-Kent has a long and rich history of transportation. But are there stories from Chatham-Kent that deal with more than transportation? Perhaps some that are simply unexplainable?

Today’s episode features tales about a garage gremlin, a haunted car and a traveler’s surprise.

On our inaugural episode, we explore some of Chatham-Kent’s most well known haunted buildings: The Milner Heritage House, The Chatham Cultural Centre, The Capitol Theatre, and the Chatham Collegiate Institute.

Developed in partnership with authors, historians and Ghost Walks of Chatham-Kent organizers Shelia Gibbs, Lisa Gilbert and Jim Gilbert, the podcast explores some of the community’s most well-known hauntings.

Since the earliest of times, the concept of ghosts and the tales that accompany the hauntings of the places and people that have been left behind have figured prominently in many cultures. Our curiosity about these strange and unexplainable encounters, or things that go bump in the night, continues to pique our interest. For five episodes, we will be delving into the tales of the extraordinary ghostly encounters that have occurred within Chatham-Kent.

The first episode, which features the Capitol Theatre, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham Collegiate Institute and the Milner Heritage House is set to launch on Monday, August 23, 2021 and can be found on Apple Podcast, Google Podcasts and Spotify.
