Its been a whirlwind for the CITB squad the last two weeks, but the boys are back in action as they sit down with former and future MLB All-Star Trevor Rosenthal as he works his way back from an elbow contusion. Matt's MNK streak comes to an end as he goes 1 for 6 this week, Liam sounds off on former MLB pitcher Trevor Bell calling him a computer nerd. Additionally, the boys touch on the Marley Rivera incident with ESPN, the A's moving to Vegas, Drew Maggi's debut, and more.
Former Milwaukee Brewers infielder Keston Hiura joins the show to talk about his final days of Spring Training, starting the season in Triple-A Nashville, the adjustments he's made at the plate throughout his career, his key to getting back to the Major Leagues, and more!
Yet again the CITB sqaud (Liam specifically) battles the audio bug. Why does he sound like he's underwater? Why don't we have a guest for this episode? Technical difficulties aside, Liam and Matt push through to discuss the WBC, Opening Day, the second installment of MNK, and much more.
Technical difficulties have still not been resolved as Liam's mic continues to cause him fits. But as they say in the business, 'the show must go on" and the CITB crew gets rolling as @SportsTaxMan Robert Raiola steps into the box to talk Jock Tax, Manny Machado's contract, Bruce Springsteen, and much more. Robert is the head of the Sports and Entertainment Department at PKF O'Connor Davies, where he advises high-earning athletes with their taxes. Liam surprises Matt with a new segment 'Might Not Know' (MNK) and the results are exactly what he expected.
Former Major League pitcher Jacob Turner steps into the box to discuss building wealth, MLB's pension plan, working with Scott Boras, and much more. Following his playing career, Jacob founded J.L. Strategic Wealth, a financial advisement form that focuses on helping athletes and entrepreneurs build wealth and navigate their business ventures. You can follow Jacob on social media @thesuddenwealth as well as @jlswealth.
This week the CITB crew sit down with 2012 Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey. R.A. is the only knuckleball pitcher in MLB history to take home the honor. After 15 years in MLB R.A. hung up his spikes in 2017, but never officially filed his paperwork with the MLBPA...is a comeback on the horizon? Liam and Matt dive into that and more with the knuckleballer. If you wnat to hear more about R.A.'s story and the adversity he's overcome throughout his life, you can check out his book "Wherever I Wind Up" My Quest for Truth, Authenticity, and The Perfect Knuckleball" on Amazon now.
Liam and Matt kick off episode two with 15 year professional baseball veteran Josh Lindblom.
Josh played seven seasons in the Major Leagues and five in Korea where he won back-to-back Cy Young Awards and an MVP, and some how made his way into GQ Korea before returning to the states.
Josh guaranteed us that Liam wouldn't be able to find the pictures from his photo shoot in GQ Korea.
