On this week’s Chauncey’s Great Outdoors were going to hear from Tim Mondl from the Forest Preserve District of Cook County telling us about all the programs in the Forest Preserves of Cook County. Then Mike Reynolds, my hunting buddy will be coming on to tell all the hunters about the whitetail deer’s, hearing, eye site, nose and the sensitivity of each of them and how you might fool one of them, but you’ll never fool all of them when your hunting. Well than have in our last segment of the show the Aiden fishing report, Capt Tony, some outdoor news and more fishing reports.

On this week’s Chauncey’s Great Outdoors were going to hear from Jim Chelsvig, yes that’s the same Jim Chelsvig that came on our show for the forest preserves, but he is now retired and very busy teaching archery thru a number of different park districts. You'll want to hear more this from Jim. Then Mark Chalik from Bays Edge Town Homes in Port Clinton is coming on to tell us about the late season walleye and perch fishing on Lake Erie and how you can stay at Bays Edge, park the boat next to your beautiful town home, recharge your batteries, get your bait right there and be on the water in minutes. Were also going to call Capt. Tony because he’s been popping real nice lake trout and he has an announcement he may be stretching out the season a little longer. On this week’s Chauncey’s Great Outdoors were going to hear from Jim Crowley who is a certified shotgun instructor who will talk to us about how to be a better shot on those birds we miss. Then I’m happy to announce on Chauncey’s Great Outdoors two people that will be honored next year by being inducting into the Illinois Outdoor Hall OF Fame at the Illinois Conservation Foundation Dinner, Bob Wilkins and Jim Smitty of Teach Outdoors from Morris Illinois. They are a group that was founded on bringing kids along with their parents into the outdoor sports of hunting, fishing and more and getting the youth excited about more outdoor time then X Box time. We will also have the Aiden Fishing Report, outdoor news and more.

On this week’s Chauncey’s Great Outdoors were going to hear from Tom Penesis in charge of Out Reach Programs for the Illinois Dept of Natural Resources and this weekend he will be doing taste testing and sampling of Asian Carp in the Elgin area. You just might be surprised at what he says. Then Jeremie Bacon one of the founders of The Forge Lemont Quarries will be on to tell us about this unbelievable site of outdoor adventure, biking, wall climbing, fishing, food, and more for people from 3 years old on up in the southwest suburbs in Lemont Illinois, the Forge Lemont Quarries. You will not want to miss a trip out there, even if its just to what other people, participate or bring the grand Kids!

On this week’s Chauncey’s Great Outdoors we hear from our reporter in the woods Tim Mondl of the forest preserve district of cook county and the outdoor programs that they are going to start again. Then Stan Tekiela, my buddy, the greatest naturalist I know will talk about monarch butterflies and I know were going to learn something. Then my good buddy Phil Piscetello from border line guide service is going to tell us how to catch fish on the hottest day of the year!

On this week’s Chauncey's Great Outdoors we will have Kirsten Dale, a shooting coach from Wilmot High School along the Illinois and Wisconsin border and how big High School shooting sports is becoming. Then Crystal Curfman Exec Director of the Illinois Conservation Foundation will come on and tell us who will be elected into the Illinois Outdoor Hall Of fame in the spring of next year and then she will tell us about the new Outdoor Illinois App available for iPhone and Android for free . Then Logan McKenzie from Blarney Bassmasters and Anglers Choice Tournaments will tell us about a fund raising fishing tournament out of the Port of Blarney on Aug 29 that is being done to help raise cash for his co angler that had an accident and is paralyzed from the chest down and has a family and a lot of medical bills and even if you don't fish there will be one heck of a raffle that you can win prizes by purchasing raffle tickets that day the 29th at the Port of Blarney between 9 and 12 noon.

Dr. Austin Happel researcher from the Shedd Aquarium on the growing number of game fish in the Chicago River and the Calumet River.
