We received a relatively low amount of questions that tagged @jackgreenstalk or @cheaphomegrow and so we dove deep into one of the first questions which asked what breeders look for in a good seed tester, and what are some common faux pas to avoid.  Most panelist who grow seeds and have tested weigh in and share their thoughts on their own experiences and speculate on what might be best way to do it, and why some may be motivated to do things one way or another.  We also then go into talking about saponins in response to a question.  at roughly the 1 hour mark, Jack shares the zoom link with the live chat, and sour diesel tangie joins the conversation, shows off his garden and lights a bit and then we have some discussion about c02 and ppfd levels.  This goes on into some organic vs synthetic conversations related to that topic and also in relation to implications for the planet. after sour diesel tangie left, brandon comes back and we field a question on crop cover.  once we cover the crop cover topic for a bit, we have a few other special surprise panelist join, for the first time ever @chetterbob13 joins the panel and shows off his garden with a few great SCROGs and discusses his thoughts on living soil bed grows he runs compared with his sea of green (SOG) grows in similar/the same sized grow spaces, using very different plant count and management techniques.  Right at the very end crack babies DWC also joins the show for the first time and shares a bit about their grow, and lessons they have learned thanks to cocoforcannabis.com overall a great week with lots of chat involvement both in youtube live chat but on the panel as well.  We will do more of these in the future, so be prepared.. have zoom downloaded, ideally headphones (and a mic, even if its just your phone) we are happy to have new growers on the panel to show off their gardens and ask questions, and hope more will feel comfortable to join on shows like this in the future! growers love, always!

growing with my fellow growers  #133 aka GWMFG #133:: STAND UP for your rights, FIGHT White Powdery Mildew, Thrips and bad politics  This week host @jackgreenstalk is joined by a mostly full panel of @spartangrown who can be emailed [email protected] ,  @Dr MJ Coco  of cocoforcannabis.com , kyle breeder aka @pure_breeding now from pbreeding.com, @brandonrust of bokashiearthworks.com for products, seeds and merch, @atgacres aaron the grower also joins and can have more info merch, plant packers (the best way to send clones!) can be found www.atgacres.com ,  @Zenthanol  on youtube matthew gates joins as well and can be found @synchangel on all social media you can support his patreon for access to private discord (https://www.patreon.com/Zenthanol) starting at $1 a month, @noahtheegrowa. joins later on as well.  This week we missed @theamrericanone aka @theamericanone_with_achenes on instagram  On this week show we open up discussing the current situation in Michigan in regards to potential changes to cannabis Laws.  Spartan Grown gives us an update  on the current state of the fight against MCMA (Michigan cannabis manufactures association) a lobby whos proposing laws to limit, or remove entirely the right to homegrown or have access to a caregiver as the current citizen voted in laws provide access for.  This important discussion highlights an issue happening in Michigan, but it is a potential domino that if falls, can set the right or wrong legal precedent moving forward for Michigan and many other states who may follow if they have similar lobbying groups.  After a lengthy discussion of many of the implications of these laws, we also take some questions and comments from the chat.  We share a method that helped one grower achieve their first ever powdery mildew free harvest after continual struggles, and also cover potential solutions for a grower a few weeks from harvest outdoors currently fighting white powdery mildew as well.  One of the comments mentioned thrips, that were present but not a major issue however it was a good time to explain how to prevent and deal with thrips, mathew and spartan share great advice on predators, the ranges of temperature and humidity the two best predators can survive in, and why it is best to use just one type at a time, versus using a combination of both predators.  We discuss the impacts of changing PH of water can have for fighting mildew, molds and even pests, and also the potential implications it may have on the plant, and how to balance whether or not certain stresses are worth putting the plant thru in order to avoid pests, whether molds/mildews or insects. We talk a bit about an all green greenhouse and why it may trick pests, discuss a recent post about using a decoy to potentially scare off moths and butterflies that lead to caterpillars and budworms that plague many grows around the world.  Towards the end we have some discussions about breeding in general, what we are growing, a new drop coming from pure_breeding collabing with green bodhi, some thoughts on regular seeds vs feminized breeding and autoflowers/ autofems.  We also discuss purple vs green strains and the amount available in modern times vs the past.  All this and lots more, so listen in and check out another great week with an awesome panel of generous and dedicated individuals.

After a lot of deep diving into lighting, we switch over to discussing how aphids can be attracted to healthy plants with high brix, and Matthew shares data to support his claims. We discuss how fast LEDs diodes degrade in comparison to HIDs, then we begin taking questions from chat like how to manage environment going from budget to full sized lights and how to adjust to accommodate. We also take a question about PM or powdery mildew and how to avoid pests when growing veges outdoors.  Spartan grown gives an update on his outdoor sparkleface plant and how he would plan to deal with late flower rains. We discuss good IPM practices as a result of accepting the knowledge and info the pests can attack even healthy plants.  We discuss rice root aphid ipm as a response to a question about using doctor zymes in the water tube of a SIP container. We discuss the implications of remotely mounting LED drivers vs mounting them within the grow space and different ways this can be accomplished. We discuss up and down regulation genes of resilience or susceptibility genes of plants.  We also discuss use of ozone, or ozonated water for cleaning grow spaces, or filtering exhaust.  We discuss some of cannabis aromas, like fruity pebbles og (FPOG) cereal milk, and others with similar aromas to smells we find in nature or foods.  We discuss healthy plants and what makes a healthy plant for a bit as well.
