Following the successful live show back in October, Paul and Eli have been graced with an assortment of gifts and items for the podcast to enjoy! There is quite a lot to get through, and the Cheap Chaps have to start somewhere, so why not start with a mystery bag of goodies from Andy and Louise! In what ends up being one long “Price of Shite” challenge, there are eight items to investigate and evaluate. Paul is back from his week away in Los Angeles. It was a chance for him to actually unwind and enjoy himself, free from the burden of his podcast duties. However, he wasn’t completely “off the clock” as he managed to pick a few things up from his vacation for the podcast to nibble on and evaluate! In fact, you could say both Eli and Paul are in very chipper moods, despite one of them feeling under the weather and the other a little jetlagged. Over the course of the next hour, Eli will sample some very tasty, and much loved, mustard as well as some moreish snacks bought from the Little Tokyo part of LA. Paul also has a little taste test he wants to try, as he pits the American branded chocolate bars against their UK contemporaries! There’s a Kit Kat, some Rolos and a Snickers bar to compare to see which is actually better, the USA or UK version? Finally, Paul pits Eli to a Goodwill store sourced Price of Shite, with some items chosen to appeal to Eli’s passions. Everyone is feeling good this week, let’s see how long that lasts!

Following the shocking events of Episode 407, Paul has been in the care of our resident supernatural expert “Gareth”. It was Gareth who found him and exorcised the demon from his body, but Paul was badly shaken up by the experience. As a result, Paul has only got ONE HOUR to record this week’s podcast and it’s up to Eli to get his co-host through the next 60 minutes. In a slightly more unfocused episode that usual, Eli pulls out a range of sweet Polish mustards to taste test the living hell out of them. Thankfully, because of the live show, there are also big bags of crisps to sample and all four flavours are loosely based on the UK TV gameshow “Bullseye” branding! Will the snacks live up to the legacy of Bully and his darts based quiz? There is only one way to find out, and that’s to get their gobs all over them. It’s another “real time” episode, so hold on tight!

CheapShow is LIVE! Or rather, WAS live on Oct 19th when Paul & Eli performed to a packed house at the Cheerful Earful Festival! Joining them on stage for 90 minutes of carefully organised havoc and horror is Sooz Kempner, Ethan Lawrence and Ash Frith! Over the next hour and a half, a frothing merry audience will be entertained with a low budget Daft Punk intro, a hellish scoring system argument, the resurrection of “Keith”, an acting masterclass with Vincent Price, a mega mix Price of Shite, Gannon’s fastest song to date, a tribute to classic TV game show “3.2.1” and the show’s biggest anti-climax ever! It’s an overstuffed, overexcited live show with CheapShow doing what CheapShow does best… Comedy chaos and high energy hi-jinks! It’s that spooky time of the year again and Paul and Eli are celebrating Halloween a little earlier than usual! On this week’s episode, it’s going to get ghoulish with a range of spectre-adjacent gummies and fizzy pop to enjoy. With the release of the Beetlejuice sequel, a few brands have chipped in with their own special edition treats. Maynards have something called “Spooky Gums” for the Cheap Chaps to wrap their taste buds around and Fanta have a green Apple flavoured soda to sup! Do either celebrate the “ghost with the most” or will they both horrifically underwhelm? Oh! After weeks of fierce internet debate, CheapShow has finally gotten its hands on Heinz’s Monster Munch Pickled Onion flavoured Mayo. The results will not surprise anyone! Elsewhere in this edition of the pod, Paul is trying to get Halloween vibes going by showing Eli his latest “foggy” gadget. As for Eli, he has something of his own to share this All Hallow’s Eve. The return of an old CheapShow treasure reveals something haunting, terrifying and even possibly dangerous! MONO EDITION: There’s a pointless, nagging question in Paul & Eli’s minds… How many bridges span the whole length of the Regent’s Canal in London? A popular YouTuber suggested around about 40, but the Cheap Chaps aren’t convinced and decide to find out for themselves. So begins a near 9 mile journey right through the middle of London that will delight, confuse, upset and annoy them both. Beginning in the East at The Limehouse Basin, they’re going to travel West all the way to the Paddington end. How long will it take and how many bridges will there actually be? You’ll find out in this 2 hour epic episode. Along the way they’ll vent about joggers, marvel at the graffiti, reveal some history, tackle some Eli supplied snacks, share some personal stories and ONE of them will have a very unpleasant bathroom experience. Come along for another “ball of chalk”, have a “knees up” and try to have a proper “bubble” in this “capital” CheapShow adventure!

Due to circumstances beyond Paul & Eli’s control, they’re recording this week’s episode from inside the original House of Pickles… And Eli couldn’t be happier! To “celebrate” the Cheap Chaps are going back to basics with some good old fashioned content. To get things going, Eli has a red hot Sauce Report in more ways than one. He’s sourced two sauces from a nearby convenience store, which was handy, as its conveniently down the road from his place! Paul delivers another Page Turner segment with a book he’s been trying to get into the show for ages. As it transpires, this book got a bit more of a reputation following its appearance in a recent Ghostbusters movie! This publication promises a world of “Strange But True” stories guaranteed to confuse the podcast hosts. In other news, CheapShow invents a new pet and, sadly, it’s exactly what you think “Nougat The Saucy Horse” is!

It’s an old school episode of CheapShow this week as Eli has collated the “Silverman’s Platters” and Paul has crafted a “Price of Shite” challenge. There is plenty of tat to sift though and some of it happens to be a little bit techy. Eli will have to guess the cost of a charity shop sourced neck fan, a tinker’s magic set, a nifty little magnifying glass and a weird radio with a great big pair of ruby red lips on it! What do they do? You’ll be sorry you asked! Making things extra annoying for Eli is Paul’s need to brute force a new character into existence. Will this miserable sod become a new hit, or will Eli lose his temper quickly? When it’s time for Eli to show off his latest vinyl record discoveries, he’s grabbed two very odd ducks. The first is an utterly shocking charity single designed to raise money for the UK’s Children In Need charity. What makes it noteworthy is the fact it is sung by two actors from the British soap opera Eastenders! The second offering from the record box is an odd couple of tracks from the beloved Joe Tex. They are certainly… something! But will they be considered a “platter” or a “splatter”? You can find out by listening to Ep 404 of CheapShow!

Paul is not in the mood this week. He isn’t in the mood to be a podcaster. He isn’t in the mood to have a laugh. He isn’t in the mood for Eli. He isn’t in the mood for Eli’s vocal “chuntering” and all he IS in the mood for is a nap. Obviously, Eli loves this fact and is going to great pleasure in soaking up all of Paul’s self-loathing. All we are saying is, it may get personal this week! Luckily, there is some actual content, even if it’s not exactly the content they planned. Before they even get started, they take a tangent into the deeply scatological when they discover “rectal euphoria” is a thing and Eli suggests a new segment that ISN’T going to happen. CheapShow is back on the snacks, when they are introduced to Tayto “Might Munch” and given a taste test challenge. Meanwhile, a limited edition bag of Walkers crisps tries to gain entrance to the Snack Palace, but will it get in? Finally, Paul has a Charity Shop Showcase he believes will not only win Eli over, but also change the way we understand reality! As you can probably guess, it doesn’t go well for him.
