In aid of the Mental Health Charity MIND  the “Behind The Smile” Art Exhibition  was born from the mind and paintbrushes of Artist Toby Brown. This week’s guest.

Toby, with his own mental health struggles and journey, decided to help open the conversation with his most valuable tool. His most valuable therapy. His art.

It all started with his own self portraits while he was in the depths of psychosis. Soon “Behind the Smile” portraits extended to friends, family, celebrities, and political figures. Breaking the stigma surrounding Mental Health  & Mental Health Conditions by each shedding their own masks. Its quite amazing the effects, when even one person grants us permission to see what is behind their smile. It shows us we are not alone in our struggle, that there is no shame, and that we are all stronger together in that.
