This episode is all about following your own path and not letting other's deter you from achieving your dreams. My guest Lydia talks about how she is going to continue to be herself and if she doesn't achieve her goals by doing so, then it just was not meant to be. At the young age of 20 Lydia's words are very inspirational and her outlook on life is something to be sort after. Give it a listen and maybe it will encourage you to keep pushing for your dreams.
In this episode we talk about us as females and our body confidence. What body confidence and body positivity means to the individual. How self worth needs to start at a young age but how media's representation of females obstructs this by only representing one body type. Also we emphasise how valuing yourself always needs to come from with in.
This is my 8th episode and it is all about 'Eating Disorders' my guest Lucy talks about her struggles with anorexia, how she over came it and what we can do as friends to support a loved one who is suffering. I think this very important to listen to because I personally had no idea how to treat a friend who was struggling with this disorder. This podcast is also very empowering as it shows people who are suffering that they can get better and you can have a better quality of life. I am not a doctor or a therapist this is just and open conversation with my guest about her experiences, to seek help please call 08088010677.
In this podcast we talk about 'Losing A Sibling', as my guest Taylor's brother Kirk served 12 years in the paratroopers and once he was discharged he suffered with depression and PTSD which resulted in him taking his own life.
We speak about the lack of support there is for soldiers once they are discharged, Taylor also spoke about how this heartbreaking event has allowed other males around him to open up and speak about their feelings and receive the support they need from family and friends.
In this podcast my guest, Daisy, and I talk about her experiences with anxiety and how she copes with it. I am not a doctor or a therapist my guest and I, are just having an open conversation. I feel as though it is very important for the general public to talk about mental health, in order to break the stigmas that still very much exist in society today.
In this episode my guest, Jack, talks about coming out as gay, how people reacted and how that changed over time. We then went on to speak about hate crime, we touched on religion, he spoke about his favourite advocate's for the gay community, how acceptance has come a long way in recent years and he gave his advice to younger men. Jack really enjoyed being able to speak openly about his experience, so I hope you enjoy listening as much as he did speaking. Please subscribe, comment and message me on insta @chessandherguests to let me know what you think.
In this episode my guest, Tillie talks openly about becoming a new mum. She talks about her pregnancy, her birth, how her social life and how her life in general has changed completely. A lot of what Tillie talks about relates to being a youngish mum as she is 23 years old. Whether you are a new mum or not, have a listen as it makes you realise the reasons why you're friends with babies can't do certain things and how their priorities change. Also, how you can be the same age as someone but be at completely different stages in our life. Neither of you are right or wrong, just different and that is ok!
This episode is very close to my heart, as my guest (my little cousin) and I talk about ‘Losing A Parent Young’, his mum died three years ago. He talks about his memory’s of his mum, her Illness and the effects her death had on him. I think it’s so significant that a young man of 20 has come out to speak about losing his parents so openly. My guest, Will hopes that from doing this he can help others in some way who have experienced something similar. Please listen all the way to the end as it get’s better and better, at least in my opinion. Even though, it is such an emotional topic, Will faces it head on in such a welcoming way.
This episode is about 'What is healthy?', which is obviously such a huge topic, if you have a listen you will see how my guest Tess and I tackle it. We talk about how getting the right balance for YOU is imperative. Tess is very open about her own experiences and how she struggled to get her food and exercise balance right, and the line between being healthy and being obsessed, whether it is eating and exercising too much or too little. It is naturally chatty/fun, yet informative, so have a listen and let me know what you think?
