Seems to have been a lot of red doors in Zenith. Hunter seems to have found quite a few. But only Barbie knows the right one.

The White Smoke Monster seems to be lurking in subterranean tunnels, guarding the entrance back into the dome. To allow passage, you must pass his test of being subjected to past memories or premonitions. Not bad, for the price of admission.

And Aktaion Energy seems to be more than “just” an energy company. They even have their own mercenaries. Sounds like the Hounds of Diana are onto something.

Lyle awakes from his mumblings only to realize that, no, the Rapture hasn’t happened. Barbie wakes up a bit to how much his dad really knows about the dome. And Julia (and Big Jim) awaken to realize that you really can get out of the dome. (But we’re not sure if that’s a good thing at this point.)

In this issue of the Chester’s Mill Gazette, we discuss the techie “magic” employed, a new character who is something of a hacker with a white hat, and who might have a vendetta against Big Jim. With Lyle, Sam and Barbie falling in lines to the town of Zenith, and Joe’s drone discovering that the pit is a portal, “Going Home” gave us a glimpse of life out from under the dome, and hope for a way out. Barbie’s past catches up to him, Sam reunites with his sister Pauline, and Lyle seems, well, fixated.

Meanwhile, Big Jim is ready to pronounce Barbie dead, holding a candlelight memorial for him. Gee, I wonder who he thinks would make a great replacement sheriff?

Extra, extra, read all about it! San Diego ComicCon finished up recently, and 6 cast members, plus the executive producer, hosted a panel where they showed a teaser trailer for the rest of the second season of Under the Dome, and took questions from the audience. Our correspondents were on hand to report on it, so here’s your copy.

Junior, Barbie and Sam venture out “In the Dark” to explore the caves below the school. The town is left in the dark, first from a dust storm, then by Big Jim who is, again, casting doubt on the motives and competency of Julia as potential town leader.

But also, on the contrary, so much more of the story comes to light! Sam comes clean to Barbie, just before he falls into the dark, Julia and Rebecca gain a mutual trust after talking about the choices they’ve made, and the Four Hands(tm) get those pink stars falling in lines to confirm that Melanie is indeed the Hand Replacement, and that the obelisk in Zenith really does mean something, though what, nobody knows. So then, we’re still in the dark.

With red rain falling in lines, dome-penetrating wifi, and some rather obvious Microsoft tablet product placement, the episode "Force Majeure" breaks things wide open. James finds out his Mom is alive, Rebecca cements her position as Big Jim's #2, and acid rain falls from the sky, giving our heroes (and villains) a moral quandary to consider or dismiss. But is the dome forcing then to come to grips with these issues to see what they're made of? The barber certainly thinks so, and he's got all the answers.

This week, it's Monarch butterflies that are falling in lines, and their caterpillars are out to lunch on the Chester's Mill food supply. Meanwhile, Phil, formerly a DJ and now apparently sheriff, goes all Dirty Harry on the town, as he arrests the first murder suspect he suspects. But Junior finds evidence that he may have done it. But did he?
