As we begin our walk through the book of Nehemiah, we see that Nehemiah was the cupbearer to the king. He was to take care of the king. We don’t know a lot about him, but we know his role. He was hard-working, responsible, and trusting, and God was going to use him in a big way for Jerusalem. Just like Nehemiah, we all have a role in building the Kingdom of God. In Chapter 1, Nehemiah learns about the chaos happening in Jerusalem and commits to pray to God about it. In his prayer, he acknowledges who God is, begs God to listen, commits to continuing to pray until God moves, and makes himself available for God to use. Listen to this sermon about committing ourselves to pray and making ourselves available for God to use as we walk through Nehemiah 1 in the first part of our Rebuild series.
