Episode 13, we discuss the origins of some of our well known annual celebrations, Christmas, Easter, Halloween and even Valentines day. There is nothing wrong with the evolution of a celebration but there is always the danger that the original message may become distorted. Valentines day is a celebration of love but can we truly say that in the age of commercialisation, consumerism and social media that love is still the reason we celebrate it or is it more accurate to say that it is driven by the desire of singletons and couples alike not to be excluded from that specific celebration on that specific day?
