GrooveSession is a band. Distinctively one of today's musical artists with a sound of their own, a fun message of hope and a simple vision of love for the world. Uniquely reminiscent of some of history's greatest bands this trio is writing and performing songs that would have been relevant twenty years ago and twenty years from now. Never taking themselves too seriously GrooveSession has an appreciation for all things honest and brings positive energy, musical content and a spirit that resides in all people.

On a cold and Sunny day, into the studio comes a ray of that sunshine by the name of Humbird. Hailing from Minnesota and in Chicago for a show she came in and blew me away as she will you.

Naomi Ashley grew up on a farm outside the small town of Moville, Iowa and has been a part of the Chicago music scene for over 17 years. As a singer-songwriter, she draws from American folk, roots and country traditions to create a body of work ranging from witty and satirical to poetic and heartfelt. Her 2007 album, Another Year Or So, was funded by a grant from the Chicago Artist Assistance Program. Her most recent album, Trying to Fly, was partially funded by the Illinois Arts Council

Vivian Garciaalong with percussionist Bill Garcia and trumpet player Edwin Martinez joined us on a cold February evening and warmed up the studio with a beautiful mix of Spanish and English music Vivian is a joyous blend of classic spanish music along with her original English songs. Vivian, Bill, and Edwin brought this magical blend of Chicago and Madrid together. I loved it and I know you will too. Enjoy.

One afternoon. Not too long ago. Jeff and I met at the CAU Studio to record a Podcast show before he and his lovely bride Kristie move to Virginia. In the hour long set we got in 6 of his most tasty songs and talked about our friendshop. This is the result of that effort.This Saturday night, Jeff will be returning to one of his favorite breweries in the area to make some music for all of you!It's free, their beer is delightful (seriously, try their wee heavy and their milk stout), and my awesome wife will be there before she moves to Virginia.

SACHA MULLIN is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter, arranger, pianist, and educator. At once commanding and vulnerable, Sacha's often been compared to Jeff Buckley and Morrissey – though he more closely studied the heartfelt gymnastics of folks like Joni Mitchell, Heather Nova, and Lisa Fischer.

Singer-songwriter, Diana Chittester, is renowned both for her vocals and her energetic acoustic guitar-playing. Her solo show is brought to life by her signature percussive multi-part playing, mimicking a full band on a solo acoustic guitar, without the help of loopers or other technological tricks, while blending intelligent lyrics and storytelling that engages the audience. Matthew Francis Andersen was born and raised in Chicago. But as a former walleye and musky fishing guide home has also been as far as northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. That's where Andersen's EP Blue Line takes you: from the local taverns and street lights, to the boat landings and rivers deep within the northwoods.
