We're almost done with 2021!

In this episode we bring you the latest in latinx local and national politics. Schools are still on fire, and the redistricting process across the country is HEATED! Plus how women are being targeted in political spaces.

Wherever you are in the US, your community is being shaped by the decennial Redistricting process. Are you participating? In this episode we break down how redistricting is related to the next elections, fair representation and how it even relates to the results of the Kyle Rittenhouse and Ahmaud Arbery cases.

Arghhh, Latinas and pissed! Texas decided to create abortion bounty hunters in a very Sorayo move (yes, Texas is Male AF). Ugh, the worst! Meanwhile, California is having a recall election this Sept. 14. ¡Ay Dios! Latinx community, you need to vote NO, your vote WILL make a difference. ¡Vamos a votar!

In this episode we talk about the latest 2020 Census results and we dive into our experiences as Latinas in politics.

New episode is here! And we're talking about the CA Governor Recall and school boards voting on banning what they think is Critical Race Theory. We went off talking about local education officials who are just embarrassing the community and what we all need to do to be real allies.

We're back! We took a break to visit family so we used this episode to talk about the importance of taking breaks and protecting our mental health. Of course, we talked about our local hot topics and at a national level we covered the Redistricting process that our whole country is going through.

On part 2 of episode 2 we dive deep into the political shit shows at our local school boards, including their fight against Ethnic Studies and Critical Race Theory. ¡Ay, Dios mio!

We are splitting this episode in 2. We will be setting the scene in part 1. We'll touch on local cases of systemic racism like the charges brought upon the youth who protested the murder of George Floyd, and how these community leaders are still fighting the system even after Derek Chauvin himself has been proven guilty of murdering George Floyd and after he received his 22.5 years sentence.

Our pilot became our first episode! We liked it so much that we are releasing it as the very first episode of Chicas Politicas. !Eso!

In this episode we do an intro for our podcast, talk about San Luis Obispo County politics, the latest on Camp Roberts as a potential facility to house unaccompanied children, and the infamous May 4th SLO County Board of Supervisors meeting where elections official Tommy Gong and his office were attacked by election-fraud believers. Yikes!
